L'entreprise a été fondée en 1865 sous le nom de Wilcox Britannia Co par Jedediah et Horace Wilcox, Charles Parker, Aaron Collins et Hezekiah Miller et d'autres. L'entreprise était active à Meriden, Connecticut, avec des salles de vente au 6 Maiden Lane, New York. Le nom a été changé en Wilcox Silver Plate Co en 1867. En 1869, Parker & Casper Co, spécialiste de la vaisselle creuse en argent plaqué, a été acquise. Wilcox Silver Plate Co était l'une des premières entreprises à faire partie de l'International Silver Company en 1898. Immédiatement après (1899), Middletown Silver Plate a été fermée et la production transférée à l'usine Wilcox. Superior Silver Co était une marque déposée de Middleton fabriquée par Wilcox. La marque « demi-cercle » a été introduite en 1921 et enregistrée en 1923. L'usine a été fermée en 1941 en raison de la pénurie de métal pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Après la guerre, les modèles Wilcox ont été fabriqués dans d'autres usines de l'International Silver Company.

The company was operating in Meriden, Connecticut, with sales rooms at 6 Maiden Lane, New York. The name was changed to Wilcox Silver Plate Co in 1867. In 1869, Parker & Casper Co, a specialist in hollow silver-plated tableware, was acquired. Wilcox Silver Plate Co was one of the first companies to be part of the International Silver Company in 1898. Immediately after (1899), Middletown Silver Plate was closed and production transferred to the Wilcox plant. Superior Silver Co was a registered trademark of Middleton manufactured by Wilcox. The "semicircle" brand was introduced in 1921 and registered in 1923. The factory was closed in 1941 due to the shortage of metal during the Second World War. After the war, the Wilcox models were manufactured in other factories of the International Silver Company.
